We just returned from the Palm Springs Cambridge House Conference, which was the first time for them in that venue. The turnout could be considered on the light side but that is typical of these types of events. We spoke with some of the principals and they indicated that this venue will probably continue for a while to determine the true potential. We agree; it was a great setting with new people, and those who attended were very serious investors, from what we were able to determine.

On our venture to introduce ourselves to many at this event, we were contacted by Liberty Coin and Precious Metals. I spoke with Mark Lonneker, the founder, and learned a few new things. Mark asked if we were familiar with the www.CompareSilverPrices.com Web site and we were not.  We quickly took a look and discovered that it is a great source for silver investors to discover the best prices on all retail silver products.

We must, however, point out that the algorithm used by the Web site does not take into account shipping costs or discounts for large orders. This is easily verified by comparing to another site we have discussed before—www.goldshark.com—which provides a much more sophisticated algorithm that accounts for shipping/quantity discounts. So please consider the total costs involved. We have been consistent that price is important, but a strong relationship with a dealer you know and trust is extremely important.

Mark was quick to point out that Liberty was the best price on almost all products, as shown on the CompareSilverPrices Web site. We discussed the silver market on both a short- and long-term basis. After our discussion we shot a video of basic questions and answers that will be on our youtube channel probably before this publication is finalized.
